AI Drives Advanced Capacity Build-Out
AI servers demand higher performance logic, HBM, and advanced packaging, prompting fabs to invest in new lines and process upgrades. Meanwhile, automotive electronics, industrial control, and power devices still require substantial mature-node capacity.
Capacity Expansion Requires Stronger Supply Chain Coordination
Equipment investment takes a long cycle from planning to stable output; materials, equipment, process, packaging, testing, and quality systems must advance in tandem. Regionalized investment also alters supply chain distances, certification cycles, and inventory strategies.
For end-device manufacturers, monitoring upstream investment helps understand long-term supply trends, but actual procurement must still consider wafer sources, packaging capacity, and manufacturer lifecycle commitments for specific components.
